Fed up with getting low amounts of useless visitors to your website? Well i want to let you know about a brand new underground tactic that makes myself $900 each day on 100% AUTOPILOT. I really could be here all day and going into detail but why dont you simply check their site out? There is a excellent video that explains everything. So if your seriously interested in producing quick hard cash this is the site for you. Auto Traffic Avalanche

as an American living here I couldn't believe when I saw these kids hanging out in random places, being "edgy" circa 1998 (but it's okay, their lack of present-time makes them "retro"). Seeing these idiots shuffle-walk their way around Greenside, trying their best to keep a wisp of hair across one eye, drinking cheap wine and pulling their skinny jeans up off their flat asses, it's quite puzzling...

At least we can get a hearty laugh out of them!

Your picture is a bit dated. It's skinny jeans and those big black rimmed glasses that are all the rage now.
I did actually lol at this. Love it.

I totally agree with you, as there aren't words in this blog to tolerate the many variables involved in the advertising process, I had to keep it to one specific variable - creative autonomy vs. client autonomy.

Ultimately, clients, despite their budget should be in control. Their preparation, and understanding of their brand is kind of assumed in my rant because most of the brand managers I have dealt with have quite a solid understanding of what they want, the vision for their brand etc. Unfortunately these same individuals despite being equipped with knowledge of their brand, far more experience in the ad industry than the junior creatives they deal with succumb to creative stupor when they meet with individuals given the title "creative" or "strategist".

Yeah the bottom line does constrain advertising, but at the same time its the driving force which challenges ad people to get creative with what cash they've got.

The problem with the brand identity being, that it was also conceived by an outside supplier. When requesting a "What your company is about", I'm generally met with a "I dunno, Tracey has it." "Who's Tracey?" Tracey more often that not, is a clerical worker, and was assigned the keeper of the CID, when it was handed over, way back when. Most, and I know I use that very broadly, company directors or brand managers have no clue about what their "image" is.

Let's face it, the company directors are there to make money... The CEO has to take decisions, to make money. His decisions affect those below him - with the main aim ringing out: "Make MORE Money!" and so forth and so forth, until it reaches the Brand Manager, who, well, also has to MAKE MORE MONEY- but they have to do it in a more seductive fashion.

No, I'm not engaging in "Down with the System/Damn the Man" arguments here. But the main purpose of most companies; make a profit. The doodley-creative-fart-assing about... Get somebody else to do it. I generally find, when entering a presentation situation, an average creative's ideas are met with enthusiasm, but as time passes, the budget decreases, and the CEO is seriously getting nervous about spending all that cash on that embossed business cards.

So in the end, the ideas get washed out, not because neither the clients or creatives have a clear vision of the message. But because, it's all a bit scary, and doing what we did last year... Is a safe option.
